Why “Brooklyn” Lotus Blends?<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I grew up in Brooklyn, which is where I\u2019ve done most of my growth and healing. The blend is me acknowledging that mind, body and dare I say \u201cspirit\u2019 are interconnected. As a therapist I have connected both modalities and also created massage butters of my own. Made with shea butter and other organic essential oils. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABOUT ME<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In case you\u2019re wondering about what makes this Massage Therapist a little different, I thought I\u2019d share a bit about myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have been massaging for over 20 years. I originally started out doing energy work. Moving and shifting energy in the body through the use of slight touch and pressing on emotional and physical trigger points on the surface of my clients. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This energy work resonated with me, because as a child I was able to feel things around me and later discovered that my hands would get hot and vibrate at times. I found this to be true also in my ability to read and feel things around me as an empath. This would appear to be a complicated word. It simply means at times \u201cI can see and feel what people don\u2019t say\u201d.  I have an Afro-Caribbean background from my roots in Puerto Rico and Curacao. From what I know of my lineage I come from a long line of healers. Some things can\u2019t always be put into words, but energy is universal. We can all feel it in our environments and in our body. When I massage I believe it helps people to tune in to this. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I discovered that there was actually a way to use this in a positive way, It was a life changer for me as a Licensed Social Worker. I discovered there are many names and forms of energy and healing exchanges. Reiki is one of the most well known, however there is I.E.T.  and many other forms. I have learned many of them. What it has come down to for me is that, being still and connecting with the person who you are intending to communicate with, whether it be through touch or in words is beneficial to all parts of a person. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 I discovered, as a therapist over the years from working with people who have experienced trauma and have Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD), that energy gets trapped in the body and has physical triggers, as well mental triggers. The body doesn\u2019t forget its experiences, it stores them like a computer with files. The desktop doesn\u2019t always show what\u2019s in the files. Our bodies work the same. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether  it be mental, emotional or physical the body tells the story. When I am massaging I connect to my clients and let their bodies tell me the story. My clients are welcome to share what they wish at the moment for their session or just allow me to do the work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am currently licensed to work in many states, but unless I am traveling for work I mostly practice massage in New York  and Connecticut. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whatever journey you choose to have whether it be Swedish, Sports, Thai, lymphatic or emotional release, I will do my best to relieve your discomfort or just allow you to relax. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
